Chapter
11 Imperial Royalty (Part 1/3)
Although
it was only Jun Lixuan's excuse to take Ling Qiyang to Huaiying Pavillion for
breakfast, he kept this promise. As it was the first time Ling Qiyang ate
breakfast here, the experience was fresh. Coupled with the tasty food, he ate
more than usual.
Seeing his
Consort intrigue for all the dishes, Jun Lixuan suddenly had the urge to
forcefully bring the cook from Huaiying Pavillion back to the manor. Unfortunately,
Ye Empire's Law Code clearly stipulated that it illegal to force personal
wishes onto others against their will. Hence, Jun Lixuan could only give up.
Barely
an hour after they returned to the manor, news came from the palace. Emperor
Yanxi erupted in molten rage and smashed a teacup into smithereens when he
heard the news. He summoned the Eldest Prince to the Imperial Study and went
for the jugular. The Eldest Prince was punished and knelt at the Imperial Study
while the Emperor mercilessly lashed out. It was a devastating scene. With all responsibility on Jun Chengrong alone, he had to face the
repercussions of his negligence.
"Do
you want to go to the palace?" Ling Qiyang asked. Emperor Father was
furious. As his son, Jun Lixuan should show some concern.
Jun
Lixuan smirked and shook his head, "No. Although I'm aware of this, I did
not learn of it from Emperor Father. Emperor Father does not like others to
probe into governmental affairs. It's better if I just continue to feign
unawareness."
Ling
Qiyang nodded. As someone who did not pursue merit, Jun Lixuan was wise and
never stepped over boundaries.
"Speaking
of going out, I have a place to go tomorrow. Rest early today, and come along
tomorrow." Jun Lixuan said.
"Where
to?"
"You'll
know when we reach."
The
next day, the Emperor's outrage ensued. Fortunately, the court still on New
Year's break and need not face the blazing fury. Back in the manor, Jun Lixuan
was idle. He scanned through a list of gifts that were prepared in advance and gave it
to Ling Qiyang.
“Who are
these for? Third Brother or Sixth Brother?" There were not many people who
were worthy of having Jun Lixuan go around on a visit. However, by the gift
list, the recipient did not seem to be a Prince.
"Neither.
You haven't been back home since you got married. You must miss your Father a lot.
Since we are free today, I'm bringing you back to Count Wangyang's
Mansion."
Hearing
his words, surprise flashed through Ling Qiyang's eyes. His mouth gaped
momentarily before he stutteringly asked, "Really?"
As far
as he knew, Omegas rarely visited their own families. The lucky few got to go
home after 3 to 5 years of marriage, while others returned after more than 10
years. The unlucky ones may spend the rest of their lives away from home, never
stepping back in ever till their deaths. He initially thought that he would
have to wait a year at the earliest before he could go back. Unexpectedly, Jun
Lixuan would take him back to see his Father today.
"I
have everything ready. Does this look like a lie to you?" Looking at the
excitement building within Ling Qiyang, Jun Lixuan stretched out his hand and
flicked his nose. "See if anything is missing and let Ming Li add
it."
"This
is already very good. However, you have already sent a gift on New Year's Eve.
Sending more today must be really costly." The gifts were well prepared. However, the manor had already sent a hefty set of gifts a
few days back. Bringing gifts again might lead to public criticism.
"Gifting
items to your Father is never a cost! When Father lives comfortably without
worries about food and clothing, you will feel at ease too" Jun Lixuan
said, "Since there is nothing to add, let's go. Father should be awake
even if he took an afternoon nap. "
"Hmm."
Ling Qiyang nodded quickly. Anticipation had started glittering in his eyes.

Lixuan smiled and helped him into the carriage. Without delay, the carriage set
off.
Jun
Lixuan had sent a messenger to notify Wangyang Mansion's about their visit
beforehand. After all, welcoming the Prince and Prince Consort was a very
solemn traditional procedure. All preparations should be ready before their
arrival. If the two suddenly appeared, Count Wangyang's Mansion would be ill-prepared
and be liable for charges of disrespect.
