Tang Fang was momentarily stunned, muttering a quick prayer of relief as he directed the remaining tanks and Protoss units on the platform to fire at the serpent. Their attacks were meant to distract it while he pieced together the true nature of the emerald-green liquid spewing from its venom sacs.

“Boom!” The Siege Tank’s twin cannons fired, their recoil shaking the vehicle violently. But instead of withstanding the blast, the tank’s once-thick armor crumbled like dry sand into a fine powder.

An entire tank—nearly nine meters long and four meters tall—had disintegrated into dust in an instant. Tang Fang stared, his mind struggling to process what he’d just witnessed. How could something so massive collapse so completely?

The Protoss units weren’t spared either. A Stalker fired its particle beam, only for its plasma shield to flicker wildly with blue light before shattering like glass under resonance waves. Ping! It exploded into fragments a heartbeat later.

The horrifying reality hit him hard. Those seemingly harmless emerald droplets weren’t mere liquids—they were catastrophic agents of destruction. Four tanks had been reduced to nothing but fine powder. Five others lost half their structure. Five Stalkers and three Dragoons had their shields stripped away, leaving their crystalline cores dim and lifeless.

A “weak” ultimate move? What irony. This creature’s venom wasn’t merely toxic—it was a super-disintegrator. Anything it touched would break down into its most fundamental particles, much like the Stalker’s particle disruptor weapon. On a molecular level, the venom corroded chemical bonds between atoms, weakening them until even minor vibrations caused matter to collapse into dust.

Imagine if this substance landed on a person. A single step, a sneeze, or even speaking might cause them to crumble into microscopic particles. The thought alone sent chills down Tang Fang’s spine.

Mushroom creatures’ explosive dust, one-eyed monsters’ lasers, and now the serpent’s “venom.” Tang Fang swallowed hard. Were these really living beings? They felt more like weapons of unimaginable cruelty.

Arroz, too, was frozen in shock, cold sweat trickling down his back. If that venom had touched him earlier, he would’ve vanished without a trace—not even a corpse left behind. The sheer lethality of it made Roach acid seem laughably weak by comparison.

How could they possibly fight this thing? There was no winning against such an opponent. Escape seemed like the only viable option.

The same conclusion dawned on Tang Fang. With its overwhelming size advantage and devastating arsenal, the serpent was virtually unstoppable. Victory was out of the question.

Viking squadron, hold it off!” Sending a command to the aerial fighters, Tang Fang steeled himself and summoned three Widow Mines. At this point, all he could hope for was a delay—a chance to buy enough time to escape. After witnessing the serpent’s terrifying defenses, he knew the mines wouldn’t kill it outright. But perhaps they could stall it long enough for them to slip away.

While the Vikings distracted the serpent, Tang Fang ordered the Widow Mines to crawl stealthily across the ground, inching closer to the behemoth. Simultaneously, he urged Arroz to make a run for it. Whatever this thing was, it far surpassed human capabilities.

His Hellion roared forward, accelerating hundreds of meters before skidding to a halt beside Arroz. As soon as the veteran jumped aboard, Tang Fang glanced back. The Viking squadron’s wave attack had ended, and they were rapidly ascending. Meanwhile, the Widow Mines were ready under cover of the remaining ground forces. All that remained was for him and Arroz to board the Medivac so the mines could detonate, buying them precious time to flee.

He transmitted a signal to the Medivac pilot, preparing to trigger the mines when suddenly, the serpent burst through the haze created by MT50 Lanzel rockets. Its head rose high, jaws gaping wide.

What was it planning? Another devastating attack? Tang Fang’s heart raced. Spraying venom at airborne targets made little sense; the sky offered too much room for maneuverability. With the Vikings’ agility, the odds of hitting any were less than ten percent.

But the serpent didn’t unleash another torrent of venom. Instead, it stretched its jaws impossibly wide—almost 180 degrees, forming a straight line.

“What… what is it doing?” Tang Fang frowned. Even using its “wind pump” skill wouldn’t require opening its mouth this wide. Besides, the twenty-eight Vikings had already spread out in a fan formation, making it nearly impossible to target many.

Then came the answer. The serpent’s jawbones protruded further, revealing movement deep within its throat. Suddenly, Tang Fang saw something that froze his blood—a writhing, worm-like creature coated in thick, viscous fluid burst forth from its maw with a piercing shriek. Its segmented body twitched violently, crowned by a grotesque, ever-moving orifice filled with razor-sharp teeth resembling an anus.

“What… what kind of monster is this?” Arroz murmured, visibly shaken. Even someone as composed as him couldn’t suppress a shudder.

The serpent itself was already nightmarish—eight hundred meters long, nearly a hundred meters wide at its thickest point, capable of spewing liquid that dissolved atomic bonds. But now, another abomination emerged from its belly. Was this some parasitic entity, or were they twin entities sharing one monstrous form?

“Roar!” The worm opened its circular array of teeth, flipping its orifice outward before letting out a deafening bellow. Then, propelled by its slimy coating, the creature shot out halfway from the serpent’s body like a telescopic ladder mounted on a fire truck.

Its speed was blinding, faster than lightning. One Viking failed to evade and was instantly engulfed by the worm’s massive maw. Its three-meter-long fangs sank in with a sickening crunch, reducing the once-dominant aircraft to scrap metal.

The serpent’s neck swung again, sending the six-hundred-meter-long worm sweeping through the air. Four Vikings collided with its surface, erupting into fiery explosions. Another managed to dodge the initial sweep but met a similar fate when a massive, spiked bone claw erupted from the worm’s slime-covered body, snatching the craft mid-air and crushing it into twisted wreckage.

Tang Fang and Arroz felt their blood run cold. This monstrosity made Planet Namie’s one-eyed monster look like child’s play. Housen and Churchill, watching from the Medivac’s porthole, turned pale as ghosts.

“What do we do?” Arroz’s voice trembled, betraying his fear.

“What do you think? Run!” Facing such a nightmare, only the dead wouldn’t be afraid. Tang Fang desperately urged the Hellion below to accelerate.

In moments, the 1.2-kilometer distance was covered. Six Vikings sacrificed themselves, but Tang Fang and Arroz finally reached the edge of the platform. Glancing back, the beast seemed to sense their presence, lowering its gaze before letting out an enraged roar.

“Try this, you ugly reptile!” Tang Fang transmitted the detonation order to the three Widow Mines.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!” Three flashes lit up the area, followed by ear-splitting explosions. Nuclear shockwaves rippled outward, mushroom clouds rising.

“Roar!” A piercing scream echoed from within the chaos.

“Crash!” The colossal creature thrashed wildly, flinging debris everywhere. Objects collided, were swept aside, and hurled into walls by the violent blasts.

“You disgusting monster, how does it feel?” Housen kicked open the Medivac’s bottom hatch, tossing down a cable.

“Huh?” Tang Fang blinked, taking a moment to realize Housen referred to the worm.

Seeing Arroz grab hold of the cable, Tang Fang recalled his Hellion and secured himself onto another.

Just then, a thunderous roar erupted from the dissipating mushroom cloud. The mist churned, and a towering shadow loomed closer.

“It’s coming! Hurry, hurry!” Churchill shouted anxiously.

“Relax. Nearly three kilometers away. By the time it gets here, we’ll already be safe.” Housen taunted the approaching shadow with a raised cannon barrel, smirking. “Too small for you?”

Churchill sized him up, grinning. “Even stuffing your whole body inside wouldn’t match specs.”

“Churchill, itching for punishment again?”

“Got a problem?”

“…”

“Thud!” As the two bantered, the platform trembled beneath them. Tang Fang turned, about to relay orders to the nurse pilot, when he saw the serpent crash to the ground. Its worm segment extended beyond the cloud, smashing two Sentry units into glowing golden shards.

What was it doing? A final charge?

“Hold it off!” Tang Fang commanded the ground forces to defend at all costs.

Sentry units deployed overlapping force fields in front of the worm’s gaping maw. Tanks and the remaining Protoss units retreated behind the barriers, forming a semicircular firing line.

Surely, this setup would ensure safety—or so Tang Fang thought. But then, the serpent’s body twisted violently, propelling itself forward with incredible speed. Simultaneously, the worm tensed, its teeth parting and its orifice flipping outward. Accompanied by a cacophony of cracks, a silvery streak shot forth, effortlessly piercing through the layers of force fields. Four tanks were sent flying, and the streak surged toward the Medivac like a bolt of lightning.
