End of Volume One

Volume One concludes here. I haven’t quite figured out how to divide the volumes properly, so I just squeezed it all together. Please forgive me for being a bit clumsy—I really don’t fully understand how to handle this.

This volume introduced the historical background, provided some career-related explanations, gave most characters their chance to appear, and allowed the protagonist to start finding their footing in this unfamiliar world. Personally, I feel like I’ve covered what needed to be said—it has a clear beginning and end.

Of course, there are still many imperfections, but I have no choice but to learn as I go. That’s the price of growth!

When preparing a new book, I wasn’t actually preparing this one. Another book was already outlined, with seventy to eighty thousand words written. But as I worked, I suddenly felt something was off. I asked myself: Is this really enough?

The answer was: Of course not!

I asked again: Why not write the plot properly and cure the “unfinished story” problem? Have you really become a slave to money?

After thinking it through, I realized that yes, I am a bit of a slave to money—drinking and eating are my true pleasures! But the unfinished story problem still had to be fixed; otherwise, the drinks won’t taste good and the meat won’t be satisfying.

Thinking back to all the criticism at the end of the previous book, I felt deeply guilty. So I chose a theme with a very clear main plot. If it works once, I can probably replicate it next time. However, this book is extremely niche—niche within niche, obscure among the obscure.

I was fully prepared for failure and made an absurdly ridiculous outline. I didn’t expect many people to read it. I even posted a warning in the group, telling everyone that this book is very different from the last one, unusually slow-paced, and to follow with caution. But perhaps thanks to the popularity of the previous volume, everyone kept supporting it, which made me feel even more guilty—if I mess it up, how can I make amends? Too many characters have already been “killed off”; even apologies won’t help…

There are many things I want to say but can’t—probably because I haven’t had a drink yet. Later, I’ll have a couple and revise some more. Essentially, this is just me updating everyone on the situation. This book is truly different from the last one. In the previous book, the protagonist would fight anyone, even their girlfriend. In this one, the protagonist won’t have it easy, which may upset some readers—so follow with caution!

That’s all for now. I hope everyone enjoys reading!

Forever grateful,
