Chapter 153: The Hyperdimensional Sphere System Based on the White Path

Inside the city defense command center's monitoring room, a blinding flash of electricity erupted across the surveillance array. Screens flickered and went blank, bathing the room in an eerie white glow.

Everyone froze, silent and motionless. The only sounds were the suppressed, labored breathing of the personnel. Beads of cold sweat trickled down some faces, trembling hands hovering over touchpads.

The outer industrial zone was engulfed in flames. Factories and equipment in subdistricts D and G—primarily metallurgical facilities—were more than halfway destroyed. All this devastation at the hands of those mysterious soldiers who had appeared out of nowhere… even the Hive itself had been obliterated.

How could anyone accept that a mere few hundred men could wreak such havoc? And what about that man—what kind of secret weapon did he possess that his lightning pulses could pierce through shielding layers and fry the entire base’s surveillance network?

"Uh... uh, Commander, I need to request leave. Urgently. Nature calls."

Du Shaohui’s words landed like a bucket of water splashed into boiling oil. Vaiolet exploded with rage, kicking the hapless fool off balance and raining blows onto the back of his head. "Du Shaohui, why don’t you just go die?"

---

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Luke stared grimly at the now-blank monitors in the command hall. The veins on his forehead throbbed visibly as his face twisted into an expression of extreme frustration.

The Hive was gone—a colossal unmanned aerial carrier, whose combined combat strength rivaled that of an aviation brigade, brought down by a single audacious piece of machinery. How could he possibly come to terms with this?

"Colonel, our defensive robot losses have reached 35%. Spiderbot reserves are critically low." The logistics officer’s report felt like salt being rubbed into an open wound, deepening Luke’s already thunderous scowl.

"Contact the 2nd and 3rd Armored Brigades of the 606th Division stationed outside the city. Brief them on the situation here and request reinforcements."

The city defense forces were bound by their duty to hold the fort; they couldn’t act recklessly. With the Hive neutralized, the only option left was to call for help from the two brigades of the 606th stationed near Brave Bastion.

"Yes, sir." The communications officer hurried off to establish contact with the 606th.

Luke took a deep breath. "Operations Department, deploy reconnaissance drones to gather real-time battlefield intelligence."

"Yes, sir."

---

At the same time, Housen stood not far from the wreckage of the Hive, firing Judicator grenades relentlessly at one of the remaining defensive robots. These machines paled in comparison to Heavy Armor Warriors when it came to durability. Most fell apart after just one or two direct hits, reduced to mangled heaps of scrap metal.

The spiderbots, however, posed a slightly tougher challenge due to their agility. But marauders, with their thick armor, shrugged off attacks as if they barely registered.

"Arroz, how’s it going on your end?" Housen called out.

"We lost five marines," Arroz replied, clearly displeased. In his view, trading five marines for over two hundred drones was a losing deal.

"Why do you have fewer casualties than me? I lost eight marines and a reaper! Why does this always happen to me?"

"Why? Because you’re an idiot."

Housen swore he saw the old man flipping him off mentally. "Anyway, any word from Tang Fang? Have you contacted him?"

"He’s on his way. He told us to keep causing chaos and try dragging the two brigades of the 606th into this mess too."

"I’m great at destruction, but… the casualties are mounting. If another drone carrier shows up, we might not stand a chance with our current numbers."

"You moron, do you think those things grow on trees? Another carrier? Do you know how much one costs? Billions. Billions! And you want more? I guarantee that losing just this one has probably driven the city defense forces to consider jumping off buildings."

"Billions? That expensive?" Housen’s eyes gleamed. "Damn, I blew away billions with a few shots. Feels good. Damn good."

"Remember to collect the fallen soldiers’ bodies. It’ll make things easier for Tang Fang later."

"Understood." As he spoke, Housen fired a grenade toward a nearby fuel tank 200 meters away.

"Boom!" A massive fireball erupted, sending thick plumes of smoke spiraling into the sky.

---

Flames raged across the horizon, choking the skyline with smoke. Destruction continued unabated as unmanned reconnaissance drones flitted through the haze, relaying scenes of devastation back to the command center.

The 2nd and 3rd Mechanized Infantry Brigades of the 606th Armored Division were closing in on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Tang Fang arrived in the inner industrial zone.

"So, they’ve finally come?" To force Aldrich to withdraw the five divisions stationed in the east, minor disruptions wouldn’t suffice. Tang Fang needed to apply overwhelming pressure to the government forces—and these two mechanized brigades would serve as his gift to the governor.

Focusing his mind within the system interface, he reviewed the losses incurred during the battle against the Hive: thirteen marines and one reaper. Terran supply counts now stood at 395/474.

"Hmph, perfect. This frees up supply space for new units." Just as he was about to order SCVs to construct additional supply depots, Emma interrupted with a message.

"Commander, it is advisable not to exceed thirty-three supply depots."

"Why?" Tang Fang asked.

"The system’s maximum supply cap is three thousand, divided equally among all three races. Each race can field up to one thousand supplies. Currently, the Terran faction’s supply cap is 474. Thirty-three supply depots provide an additional quota of 528 supply. Building more would waste resources."

"One thousand per race?" Tang Fang frowned. Previously, he’d assumed there was no limit after breaking past the 200-supply threshold. Now he learned that each race was capped at 1000—a fivefold increase compared to the game—but still finite.

"Emma, why isn’t production unlimited? There must be a reason." The supply cap of 200 in the game was designed for gameplay and balance purposes. Tang Fang never imagined that the Starcraft system embedded in his mind would arbitrarily impose such a seemingly absurd limitation.

"Commander, this is because the energy provided by the World Keystone is limited, insufficient to support a higher population count."

"World Keystone? Finite energy? Are you saying the system inside my head requires energy?"

"Commander, what you refer to as the Starcraft system is officially known as 'The Hyperdimensional Sphere System Based on the White Path.'"

White Path? Hyperdimensional? Sphere? What nonsense was this?

"Hold on, hold on," Tang Fang interjected quickly. "I don’t care about its fancy name. Right now, I just want to know—is this thing dangerous? Will it explode like a ticking bomb someday? Or will I need regular antidotes like some cursed pill?"

"Commander, please rest assured. Unless the energy level of the keystone is upgraded, the system poses no adverse effects."

"Hmm? Upgrading the keystone’s energy level? So, the system can evolve?"
