Chapter 2 — Repent

Part 2
_________________________

Chu Feng frowned, felt something was wrong, he reached out his hand and touched Rong Xun's arm, which was ice-cold...

“Rong Xun, Rong Xun, wake up.” Chu Feng embraced him to his body and wrapped him in a trench coat.

Rong Xun’s eyes were tightly shut, like a puppet at his mercy, still unresponsive. Chu Feng became anxious and gently patted Rong Xun's face. Only then did he find that although Rong Xun's body was cold, his face was very hot, especially the forehead. Chu Feng knew that Rong Xun had a fever and he didn't care about anything else. After wrapping Rong Xun with his windbreaker tightly, he embraced him and ran out of the study building. He didn’t know when Rong Xun's fever had started. This season, it was already starting to get cold early in the morning and evening. In addition, due to the recent typhoon, the temperature was already relatively low. Rong Xun stayed in the corridor for a few hours. It would be weird if he didn’t get a fever.

The guard at the gate stopped the two of them and asked, “What's going on here?” There would be another hour before the door got locked. It was natural for the guard to ask a question when students were going out this time. Especially since one was still holding the other, the guard naturally wanted to ask.

Chu Feng calmed himself down and said, “My classmate has a fever and there’s no one in the infirmary. I need to take him to the hospital.”

Upon hearing this, the guard asked, “Which class are you in? Register.”

The teacher in the infirmary also went home on Friday, so the students who were not feeling well and staying in school at this time, could only go to the hospital. The guard wasn’t surprised plus the light here wasn’t too bright. Rong Xun was covered in a long trench coat and the guard couldn't see anything so he went according to the normal process.

After Chu Feng reported his class and name, the guard released him and told him to call the class teacher and Rong Xun's family if there were any problems. Chu Feng didn't bother to listen to the guard, so he went out of the school and hailed a taxi, and took Rong Xun straight to the hospital.

In the taxi, Chu Feng called his cousin. His cousin was a doctor at the Sixth Hospital in the city. The Sixth Hospital was a bit far away from their school but it was more convenient to arrange a ward. Chu Feng also wanted to find someone trustworthy. The doctor needed to have a strict mouth. Naturally he had to ask his cousin.

When the two arrived at the hospital, Chu Feng's cousin, Song Bin, was already waiting for them at the door. Today he happened to be on duty. Chu Feng said on the phone that one of his classmates had been injured and had a fever. He didn't think much about it, thinking it was Chu Feng's friend who was injured in a fight with someone. But when he saw Chu Feng getting out of the car in his arms, Song Bin faintly felt that something was wrong. If he remembered correctly, the boy in Chu Feng's arms was wearing Chu Feng's clothes. There were several bruises on the boy's exposed legs and calves and his feet were bare. What kind of fight could hit bare feet? But suspicions aside, Song Bin still welcomed him and took Chu Feng to the consultation room.

As Chu Feng put the Rong Xun on the bed, Song Bin walked over and untied Rong Xun's windbreaker. The naked body and traces under the windbreaker made Song Bin realize what had happened and his previous suspicions weren’t unreasonable.

Before the light was dim, Chu Feng didn't see Rong Xun's situation clearly. Now Rong Xun's bruises, combined with the scratches and turbid bloody white between his legs, was simply horrible and unbearable.

“Get out!” Song Bin said coldly.

Looking at Rong Xun like this, Chu Feng was very uncomfortable. He didn't say anything much so he went out first.

About half an hour later, Song Bin finished treating all of Rong Xun's wounds and had the nurse hook up a drip before he walked out of the consultation room.

Chu Feng had been standing in the corridor, not saying a word, just waiting silently for Song Bin to tell him the situation.

Song Bin walked over and said coldly, “Chu Feng, do you know what you are doing?”

Song Bin looked very gentle at first glance but he was the type that couldn't be provoked. No matter how domineering Chu Feng was, he was still honest in the face of his cousin. Even though he was now 28 years old in his soul, the feeling that Song Bin, who was thirty years old this year, gave to Chu Feng remained the same and Song Bin was still his elder brother.

In fact, Song Bin now looks like an elite but back then he was also a bad boy type at school in the beginning and he was always indispensable for fights. But Song Bin always knew what he wanted, so in his senior year of high school, he suppressed all his rebellion and began to study seriously. Song Bin was originally clever and coupled with various tutoring, he just made up for all the lessons he had left in the first two years of high school and he was admitted to a very good medical university and started his own medical career.

“I will be responsible.” Chu Feng said.

“Nonsense! If you dare not be responsible, I will beat you up right now!” Song Bin looked at Chu Feng, his tone had a few more indescribable worries, “Chu Feng, have you ever thought, whether you want to be responsible is one thing and the people are willing to forgive you is another. When you do something like this, it's not just the physical harm to him but it's the psychological issues that are the hardest to deal with. I always thought you would at least have a bottom line even if you are messing around but now it seems I was wrong and I'm disappointed in you.”

“I'm sorry…” Chu Feng said. In fact, he was also very disappointed with himself, especially now that when he looked back, he didn't seem to have done anything worthy of his pride in high school.

Chu Feng's apology surprised Song Bin. Based on his understanding of Chu Feng, he should have blown up when he said this. Unexpectedly, Chu Feng's reaction was calm and the regret in his eyes wasn’t fake, which left Song Bin at a loss as to how to continue.

After a moment of silence, Song Bin sighed slightly and said, “When boys are in the rebellious period, I could understand. But as your cousin, I hope you could think about what you want. Don't end up wasting your years and getting nothing out of it. Chu Feng, you should have grown up.”

Chu Feng nodded, “I know.” In fact, thinking about it now, he was still immature ten years later, still childish and his relationship with his family hadn’t been eased either. He might have never grown up. Perhaps to outsiders, the family spoiled him but thinking about it carefully, he himself also accounted for a large part of the reason– because he was unwilling to take responsibility, therefore he could never mature.”

“Okay.” Song Bin patted him on the shoulder and said, “I'll arrange a ward for him later, stay for two days and see what happens. You should prepare some change of clothes for him and eat a light diet, preferably liquid food, to nourish his body.”

“Okay.” Chu Feng replied and glanced at the consulting room with some worry.

Song Bin said, “He won't be able to wake up for a while. Go ahead. I'll look at it here.”

“Then I'll trouble you.” With Song Bin there, he was naturally relieved.

“You kid, why so polite with me.” Song Bin always felt that Chu Feng was a little different but it was hard to say specifically.

Chu Feng didn't delay any more. There was a commercial area just two stops away from the hospital. The shopping mall over there wasn’t closed at this time, so he could go there and buy some clothes for Rong Xun. Chu Feng hoped that when he came back, Rong Xun was still resting so that he still had time to think about how to talk to Rong Xun.
