Rebirth: Back to Zero Author: 祎庭沫瞳 (Yi Ting Mo Tong) |
Chapter 20 (Part 2/3)
"Thank
you." the initial shock from being exposed faded away from Mo Qingge's
expression, and he nodded gratefully.
"I
won't tell others about this, including His Royal Highness Yi. You can rest
assured." This was also related to Mo Qingge's reputation. To Ling Qiyang,
it was crucial to respect Mo Qingge’s decision. On this matter, he had no right
to divulge further.
As the
two were talking, Jun Liyuan walked in. Hearing their voices, he said,
"You have woken up?"
"Third
Brother ." Ling Qiyang stood up.
Mo
Qingge wanted to get up and greet him, but was stopped by Jun Liyuan, "Lie
down."
Mo
Qingge laid back down. In fact, he did not have the strength to get up, and the
awkwardness of meeting Jun Liyuan at his own mansion had made his face flush
with a saturated pink.
"Lixuan
is waiting for you outside." Jun Liyuan said.
"Okay,
then I'll go back first." Ling Qiyang took the medicine box and said,
"Let someone get the herbs for the prescription on the table later. Drink
it before going to bed. The previous prescription is to be taken twice a day.
If nothing else happens tomorrow, I will come again."
"Okay,
I'll let people watch him." Jun Liyuan nodded, his expressionless face
seemed a little unhappy.
"I'll
make my move ." Ling Qiyang greeted Jun Liyuan, nodded to Mo Qingge, and
then exited the room.
Jun
Lixuan, who was waiting outside, saw Ling Qiyang come out. He put his arm
around his consort and whispered in his ear, "I missed you."
Ling
Qiyang's ears flushed red as he looked at him. His thick eyelashes slightly
covered his eyes, and a smile hung over his mouth.
Jun
Lixuan chuckled lightly and took the medicine box into his hand. He asked
happily, "How about we eat outside today?"
"Why
are we eating out suddenly?" Logically, the manor should have prepared
meals.
"After
a busy day, I want to take you to eat hotpot to warm up. Fragrance Hall's
hotpot is a must-try for wintertime. I want to let you try it." Jun Lixuan
said.
Ling
Qiyang had eaten hotpot only a handful of times. It was not that he disliked
it. But Count Wangyang's mansion rarely prepared it, and he never travelled out
to eat it.
Looking
at Ling Qiyang's shimmering eyes, Jun Lixuan tightened his hug and walked out,
"After eating the hotpot, we can use the soup for cooking the noodles. It
tastes amazing."
"You
know how to eat." Ling Qiyang leaned against Jun Lixuan, using his body
warmth to chase away the chills.
"Sixth
Brother taught me ..."
The two
leisurely strolled towards the stall. As they did not have their attendants
with them, they queued personally and waited for their seats. While it was not
something they were used to doing, it was interesting to experience ordinary
people's lives once in a while...
Compared
with the diabetic sweetness between the couple, the atmosphere back in Jun
Liyuan's mansion was suffocatingly heavy...
Jun
Liyuan sat on the bedside, looking at the injured man on the bed. Mo Qingge
lowered his head sideways, openly avoiding his gaze.
After a
long silence, Jun Liyuan spoke first, "Is it still hurting?"
Mo
Qingge muttered, "It's okay."
"Qiyang
said that there are some painkillers in the medication. It should make you feel
better. Just wait for the wound to scab." In the face of Mo Qingge's
reluctance to speak, Jun Liyuan was helpless. He could freely discuss national
policies and social affairs in front of Emperor Yanxi. He could analyze
conspiracies and schemes with his brother without hesitation. However, in front
of Mo Qingge, he was at a loss for words.
In
fact, he had a thousand and one things to say, but did not know where to start,
and what to say.
"Sorry
to trouble you." Mo Qingge said.
"It
was just a coincidence that Qiyang brought you here. They didn't know that we
are acquainted. Do not overthink this and rest assured."
Mo
Qingge nodded. Huh, it was just a
coincidence. What else could it have been? No one else knew that he and Jun
Liyuan spoke before other than the attendant and the Sixth Prince. Jun Liyuan
also had the habit of avoiding the people around him. While they spoke, it was
just small talk. However, this mindless chatter could easily have been used
against him in political warfare.
"I
have sent someone to inform Tranquility Pavilion. Your boss sent someone to
tell you that you don't have to rush back. If you need anything, you can just
let him know."
Mo
Qingge sighed softly, "I didn't want to enter any imperial family-related
buildings, yet I am here." Perhaps for him, His Royal Highness Yi Mansion
was the best choice. Even if it went against his original intentions, he could
only bow his head temporarily and accept it for now.
"Nothing
is more important than your body. This is my yard. No one will bother you, so
you can rest comfortably. Even if you want to go back, you have to wait for
Qiyang to give the green light." Jun Liyuan said, "Tomorrow, I will
send an attendant to assist you."
"No
need for the trouble..." Mo Qingge immediately refused. He was Omega and
did not want others to see it. " Your Highness, I appreciate your
thoughtfulness, but it would make my situation here embarrassing. It's better
to keep it as it is. It is good this way."
Jun
Liyuan thought it made sense, so he gave up.
After
some silence, Jun Liyuan asked, "How exactly did you get hurt? Where did
you get injured?" Mo Qingge's injury seemed to be inflicted by others. The
attacker was extremely vicious, as if the purpose was to destroy him. For this
kind of thing to happen in the Capital was absurd. The attackers obviously did
not place the royal family in high regard.
Mo
Qingge bit onto his lower lip, and his gaze fell cold. If he explained this
matter, there was no way Jun Liyuan would let this matter would slide so
easily. If the latter fought for justice on his behalf, his relationship with
Jun Liyuan would become more complicated. Moreover, the man who hurt him had
vast and intricate connections. If things were not handled properly, Jun Liyuan
would be embroiled in trouble. Perhaps Jun Liyuan was not afraid of risk, but
he did not want Jun Liyuan to get into trouble and criticism for him. After
all, Jun Liyuan was a prince with a distinguished status as His Royal Highness.
There was no reason for royalty to sacrifice so much for a mere zither performer.
