Her Mountain, Her Sea 2.3 Letter Paper

You Yu was first again in the second monthly exam, improving ten marks from the last and more than thirty marks better than the second place. Seeing her hardcore studying method, Chi Tang was not at all surprised. Teachers praised her and even used her answers as a sample in class.

Things like exam results, however; those who cared cared a lot while those who didn't give a damn seriously didn't care too.

In the second half of the lesson, barely anyone cared about the paper, making planes to throw at each other.

Chi Tang ranked twelve, but she didn’t care about results either. She covered it with a random book after taking a brief look.

Before the lesson began in the afternoon, Wang JiaoYang found a love letter under his desk. It was a piece of pink paper and even had a nice perfume smell on it.

“Woah, who wrote this? Lemme see!”

“Shoo,” He pushed the busybodies away. After reading it, he “tsk” ed and waved the letter in his hand. “I don’t dare to keep this; I have to return this to the sender.”

As he spoke he stood up and placed it in front of You Yu before the entire class. “Here, your letter.”

You Yu halted in her note-taking and stared back up at Wang JiaoYang.

He looked smug and even looked at her with a tinge of contempt.

The students burst into sneers and laughter. You Yu opened her mouth amongst the noise. “I didn’t write this,” She said.

He shrugged, one hand stuck into his pocket. “It has your name on it, can’t be me who wrote that.”

A few girls made strange sneers, one whispered, “How embarrassing, I can’t believe You Yu likes Wang JiaoYang too.”

Chi Tang sat behind listening to an English song, the singer sang:

“And you’re standing on the edge, face up ‘cause you’re a
   Natural
   A beating heart of stone”

She stood up, walked towards You Yu, and snatched the letter away from Wang JiaoYang to see. Then she turned to Luo Zhengli and threw it onto her desk.

“Your letter, keep it. Remember not to write other people’s name anyhow next time.”

Luo Zhengli flushed red, outraged. “I did not write this!”

“I looked at you as you wrote. You have the same kind of paper in your drawer and if you still don’t admit we can check the handwriting; her handwriting is better than yours and she would never buy this sort of paper. Use your head next time you want to play dirty tricks, please.”

True enough, You Yu only used notebook paper and the cheapest sort of letter paper with red lines. The pink scented paper just did not fit You Yu's image.

Luo Zhengli was speechless. Bearing everyone’s stares she stood up and ran off crying.

ChiTang ignored the gazes boring into her and returned to her seat.
