Driver of The Beautiful CEO - Chapter 63: The Myth of The Snow Wolf (2)

Snow Wolf wasn’t a wolf, it was a person, known as the myth of the undefeatable killer.

Snow Wolf became known 11 years ago when it massacred the strongest mercenary group in Africa and the third strongest in the world. All 581 members were killed overnight, completely shocking the entire underworld.

In the three years since then, Snow Wolf had made frequent appearances all over the world, and every time it appeared, blood would be spilled.

Ten years ago, the largest drug lord in the Americas, Argus, was discussing business in a manor when he was unexpectedly murdered along with his partners and subordinates, a total of 133 killed.

Nine years ago, the terrorist organization "Asura", long active in the Middle East, was attacked during a secret meeting, and all 37 of its main commanders and 92 of its guards, including its supreme leader, were all decapitated.

Eight years ago, the patriarch of the “White family”, a large European financial group, was assassinated in his own bedroom. In October of the same year, the right-wing leader of the island nation Kameda had his throat slit in public.

Six years ago, more than 20 leaders of a separatist party in China's TW province were killed. The main leader was even dismembered and his head hung in the largest local square.

These slaughters that had shocked the world all came from the hands of Snow Wolf.

Some said that it shouldn’t be called Snow Wolf, but Blood Wolf.

Others said that if a killer was a demon living in the dark shadows of the world, then Snow Wolf was darkness itself, and all it brought to the world was endless fear and deaths.

Until five years ago, this name that represented death suddenly disappeared, and never appeared again. Whether it was alive or dead was also unknown.

Since Snow Wolf’s first appearance, countless people had tried to investigate its origins. To this day, there were still many tracking it down, but none of them have had any luck.

No one knew where it came from, and no one knew its age, surname, and not even if ‘it’ was a she or a he.

The only information outsiders knew was that Snow Wolf liked to kill at night, and his presence was always accompanied by the soft sound of a windchime.

Once the windchime sounded, Snow Wolf would appear, and in the silent and dark night, a hell-like scenery would emerge.

It was a word widely circulated in the underworld, but it was like the most vicious curse. Everyone knew it, but nobody was willing to mention it—

The hall was deathly silent, no one made a sound, and many people didn’t look very well.

The Undercurrent organization had developed rapidly in the recent years, and their strength was even greater than that of the Black Storm mercenary group. It was no exaggeration to say that Undercurrent had a first-class strength, and were already among the top five in the entire underworld.

As members of this organization, they were of course very clear about the position that Undercurrent held in the entire underworld, it was the glory that all of them had created with their lives.

They were proud, but this glory wasn't enough to give them the courage to confront the myth.

‘Phew~’ After some time, the Undercurrent’s leader breathed a sigh of relief, regained his composure, and shouted, "Flower Butterfly!". He shouted extremely loudly, like a sudden thunderbolt, waking up the others who were still in a state of disorientation. A graceful woman walked up to the stone platform and bowed her head, "Chief."

"After dawn, take your group and immediately head to Haishi city to find out the details of this taxi driver as soon as possible." The chief said in a deep voice, "You can use any method you want, but there's one thing you should remember clearly, don't make yourself an enemy to him until you've completely figured out his background."

After saying that, the chief looked at Black Fang again, "Black Fang, get a clean new identity for Flower Butterfly, preferably as a merchant, so that she can enter Haishi with the disguise of wanting to make an investment."

Black Fang nodded, "Got it, Chief."

‘Hehe~’ Just then, the young man sitting in the second chair to the right of the chief snickered, "Chief, you're making too much of a fuss, aren't you?"

This was a young man who looked to be in his early twenties, and he certainly had enough pride to be in the fifth seat of Undercurrent at such a young age.

He wasn't arrogant enough to think that he could break the myth right now, but he also didn't agree that the myth was impossible to be broken.

The chief's caution now seemed to the young man that he was cowering, which meade him upset: "It's not wise to waste the organization's human and financial resources like this for a taxi driver. There are an unknown number of people with gaps in their identity in this world, should we go and investigate them one by one?"

"It's not a waste!" The chief said very firmly, "Any information linked to the Snow Wolf is worth the human and financial resources that would cost us."

The young man lit up a cigarrette and disdainfully said, "This is nothing more than your speculation, like paranoia."

The chief sighed, "It's precisely because it's a speculation that we have to investigate it!"

The young man still wouldn't give up and suggested, "Then why don't we just send two teams to test his strength? It’ll save us so much trouble."

"And what if he really is the Snow Wolf?" The chief looked at the young man and asked him: "If he really is the one, it’ll be too late by then. You started out late, never lived through his time. You don't know what a terrible thing it is to mess with him. There was once a newly formed organization that thought the same thing as you, they wanted to see if Snow Wolf was as strong as the rumors said. That organization was slaughtered overnight."

"And what if he isn't?" The young man asked rhetorically.

What if he wasn't?

The chief was visibly relieved. He coldly said, "If he isn't, he'll have to die."

The young man's two fingers spun around the lighter, and he seemed to be purposefully lifting the bar, pursing his lips, "Didn't you say that the chinese authorities haven't even found any evidence? He may not be the one who killed Old Ghost and the others!"

"They have a saying in China that it's better to kill a thousand by mistake than to accidently spare a guilty one*." The chief waved his hand, stopping the young man who was about to speak again. "It’s already decided. Flower Butterfly, go down and make preparations!"

*The meaning is basically: It’s better to catch everyone that might be guilty than to let them go because of lack of evidence.

"Yes, Chief!" The woman stepped aside and left the hall straight away.

The young man tilted his head back and puffed out a smoke ring, spreading his hands, he asked:  "What about that punk Carlo? Will he still be saved?"

Right!

Didn't it all start to save Carlo?

It wasn’t an easy task in the first place, but now a random taxi driver had suddenly appeared and made the whole thing much more complicated.

Should we not save him? It would be devastating, after all, he’s the former chief’s only blood relative.

Then should we save him? The risk is too great, if it really is Snow Wolf interfering, then the entire organization could be compromised.

The Undercurrent’s leader was caught in a dilemma regarding their next step.

Black Fang, being Undercurrent’s intelligence leader and military advisor, still couldn’t guess his own leader’s concerns and said: "Chief, according to the news coming from China, even if this taxi driver named Liu Yanbo did this, he went after Jiu Ye because his sister Lin Xue was beaten up by one of Jiu Ye's men, called Xue Long."

The chief's eyes lit up, and he asked, "You mean to say that Old Ghost and the others were just unlucky and happened to run into them, so they were killed for there to not be any witnesses?"

Black Fang nodded and said, "If this driver really did it, then this is probably the case. After all, we were in a partnership with Jiu Ye, and Old Ghost and the others hadn’t left his side ever since they arrived in China."

After hearing Black Fang's explanation, the bad old man, who hadn't said a word for a long time, said: "Then let’s save the boy!"

The chief nodded and got up, "Who's going?"

"I'll go." The young man was the first to stand up from his chair.

The chief didn't even look at him, shook his head and said, "You can't. You're not trying to save anyone, you just want to test that taxi driver's strength."

Annoyed at being rejected in public, the young man smashed his unfinished cigar on the ground with his foot, jumped straight off the stone platform, and walked away without looking back.

The chief didn't care about the young man's rudeness, as if he was already used to it. He just shook his head helplessly and asked again, "Who's going?"

"Me!”...“Me!”...“I will!” There were many people who volunteered this time, they were all people who were loyal to the former chief. As for the people who were fully supportive of the current leader, including Black Fang, they just lowered their heads and remained silent.

The chief nodded his head in satisfaction and selected the three most elite groups to go to China again.
