Liu Yanbo lazily leaned against the window and casually looked around. If it wasn’t for the murderous sentence he had just said, his smiling eyes made it seem as if he was visiting relatives or friends.
He was wearing a black jacket, black gloves, a hat, and a mask. It wasn’t tightly wrapped on his face, but it was enough to conceal most of his face, leaving only the part above his nose exposed.
His pupils were pitch black.
Who is he?
Jiu Ye thought he looked familiar, but he couldn’t remember where he had seen him. After all, he had too many enemies. He had to check each one by one in his mind.
The other people in the house were veterans in going through dangerous and life-threatening situations. Although the man dressed in black in front of them seemed weird and spoke very unfriendly, it wasn’t enough to make them feel afraid.
They didn’t speak. Some stood up and put their hands on their waists. They were waiting. Jiu Ye had the final say.
“Who are you?” Jiu Ye directly asked. With so many enemies, how could he possibly think of each one before the sun set? “Hiding behind a mask is no heroic act.”
“No wonder the police and the National Security couldn’t find the group of scumbags. It turns out a local bastard was covering for them.” Liu Yanbo glanced at the Undercurrent members, his smile slowly disappeared and his cold eyes fell on Jiu Ye, “Hey! What you’re doing is treason, isn’t it?”
“Ha...” Liu Yanbo sneered, “You’re a traitor, and I’m about to become a murderer, so what kind of heroic act are you even talking about? What a joke!”
Jiu Ye wasn’t angry yet, but the wretched mustache man was so enraged that his eyes widened.
They were indeed scumbags, but they couldn’t stand being scolded in front of them.
Scumbags were still human. And they still wanted to protect their pride.
Jiu Ye stretch out his arm to stop the wretched mustache man who was about to take action. When he did, he caught sight of the photo in his hands and his pupils suddenly shrank. He turned to the man in black once again and harshly asked, “Is that you?”
“It is indeed.” Liu Yanbo admitted, but he didn’t intend to take off his mask.
"I was planning to have people find you. Didn't expect you’d come here by yourself." Jiu Ye wouldn’t look down on any enemy, but this was his territory, he had enough confidence to say, "You shouldn’t have."
What he said was arrogant, but it was much more credible than the arrogance of the wretched mustache man before.
At least in Haishi, few people would deny his words.
Who was Jiu Ye?
He was a gangster who had been in Haishi for decades. Many died because of his words. And with those deaths came many enemies. But to this day, he was still alive, he still had the final say in Haishi’s underworld, and most of his former enemies had disappeared.
This was his confidence. He had the capital to say such arrogant words.
But he didn't know enough about his enemy tonight.
As Liu Yanbo's identity was revealed, the killing intent in the house suddenly rose.
Some clenched their fists, some drew out their knives, and others drew out their guns. They began to slowly walk to the window and surround them.
He has nowhere to go except for the window. As if Liu Yanbo hadn't seen the crisis in front of him, he was still leaning against the window, and casually said, "But I'm already here."
"Then don't think about leaving." Jiu Ye stood upright, his eyes had a sense of arrogance and a hint of pity. "Young man, fearless courage is sometimes just ignorant recklessness."
“Ignorance and recklessness… those are young people’s characteristics. You’re old, you wouldn’t understand.” Liu Yanbo faintly said, “Besides, you don’t own this ‘land of tigers and dragons’ you say, I’ll come and go as I please.”
“Haha~” It wasn’t just Jiu Ye who laughed, but also the Undercurrent members, who laughed even louder as if they had heard a big joke.
While laughing, Jiu Ye suddenly seemed to remember something. His face sank immediately. He loudly asked, “How did you get in here?!”
“I walked in of course.” Liu Yanbo closed the window, he wasn’t the type to keep jumping in or out from windows. “Even if you speak louder, your people outside won’t hear you, nor come up to help you.”
“Did you kill them?!” Jiu Ye’s precious smile completely disappeared and his face paled.
He had bought all the property in the town. The surrounding houses may have seemed simple, but all the people who lived in them were his most powerful and strong men, and there were also some important wanted criminals he had taken in.
Guards were in every corner and the entry was so strict even water couldn’t drip in.
Their duty was to make sure nobody disrupted his comfort and that he could sleep peacefully.
No one knew how many subordinates there were better than Jiu Ye, and no one knew their fighting abilities better than him.
Jiu Ye was confidently patted his chest and said to others, “Even if a few SWAT teams came, they still may not be able to capture my nest.”
But now, his iron-tight security was ripped like paper by this seemingly ordinary young man. How could he not be surprised?
“Right! I came here to kill!” Liu Yanbo shook his head, “What’s wrong with me? I guess I’m old too, I keep wasting time chattering.”
Liu Yanbo gestured for Jiu Ye to come closer, he was too lazy to speak.
What a provocation! A very blatant provocation!
It had been a long time since Jiu Ye had received such insulting words. And he dared call him old?
"Kill him."
‘Bang!’ Jiu Ye's words sounded almost at the same time as the gunfire. The shooter was Jiu Ye’s most trusted guard.
His marksmanship was excellent. From drawing the gun to raising his hand to pull the trigger, it all took less than two seconds.
The bullet had been precisely aimed towards Liu Yanbo's forehead.
Almost at the same time as the gunshot, the wretched mustache man and another member of the ‘Undercurrent’ rushed towards Liu Yanbo with a dagger. The two formed a pincer attack* from left to right.
*footnote: [a tactic in which they attack both sides of an enemy formation at the same time.]
The three attackers cooperated extremely tacitly. In their minds, even if Liu Yanbo was fast enough to avoid the frontal shot, it was impossible to avoid the daggers that were almost just as fast as the bullet at the same time.
It was like a deadly game.
‘Crash!’ The bullet shattered the glass, but the person by the window was long gone.
Liu Yanbo had already swiftly escaped when the old guard raised his hand to aim. He was like a ghost, leaving only after images when he moved.
It was Liu Yanbo’s turn to attack now.
His first target was neither Jiu Ye nor the old guard, but the wretched mustache man.
In a battle, especially when there are few enemies, the first target chosen usually had a special purpose. It was either to attack the strongest first and quickly resolve the battle, or to kill the weakest links of the opponent’s side to reduce the difference in numbers between them.
Liu Yanbo didn't know who was the strongest or weakest among those people. The only reason he picked the wretched mustache man was because he had heard him talk with an island dialect.
He didn’t like islanders.
The mustache man suddenly only saw black and felt a cold touch on his throat.
‘Pu~’ The blood spurted out like a spring, like a flower of sin had suddenly bloomed, it was somewhat beautiful but mostly horrifying.
The mustache man held his throat with his hands and fell straight down.
He was the first.
