Chapter 328:  “Cough, Let’s Eat Already.”

After that little bit of playing around, everyone had gotten up and gathered up in the suite’s living room to enjoy the breakfast that Lasha prepared.

“…  Why is it that I’m eating the breakfast my own maid prepared even in an inn?”

Shien kind of wanted to ask that, but he keeps feeling like he’d lose if he actually said it out loud.

Therefore, Shien stopped caring.

Thinking about it, there’s no way that the food made by the inn can be any better than what this invincible maid makes anyways, right?

Even Airi was eating happily.  Beatrice, who just woke up, was also looking at it with curiosity.  Only after Lasha started feeding her from the side did she finally blink and start obediently opening her mouth like a little animal and start happily eating as well.  It just goes to show that Lasha’s cooking skills conquers all.

Shien was also enjoying the breakfast that Lasha made, only he felt like it seemed a bit noisy outside.

“Why’s it so noisy?”

Shien asked without much thought.

Airi obviously wouldn’t be able to answer that question.

She herself had no idea, or rather, she simply had no interest whatsoever.

It was instead Lasha who spoke like she’s a newscaster.

“Those are all the people who came running and are joining in on the commotion due to Lady Yulin’s existence.

Shien nodded at Lasha’s words.

True enough, after a day had passed, likely the entirely of Jiltry has learned that this inn had a noble with a dragon staying in it, right?

Plus, no matter which world it is, there’s always no lack of people who’d try to join in on any events, so there would definitely be people who simply came by to watch.

Besides that…

“Ever since we came in last night, there were representatives of a total of 12 magic potion workshops, eight magic tools workshops, and six magic weapons workshops who came by the inn in hopes of an audience with Mister Shien.  Add in the various merchant and noble families big and small alike, there were even more who came in the morning.  They all want to purchase dragon materials from Mister Shien.  That is likely a major contributor to all the noise outside as well.

Lasha lightly reported something that Shein had no idea about, making him pause for a moment.

“Were there really that many people looking for me yesterday?”  Shien was surprised, “Why didn’t I know about that?”

Lasha responded thus to that question.

“I judged that Mister Shien would not wish to see those people or want to do any business here.”  Lasha calmly stated, “Therefore, I sent them all away.”

…  Okay, you’re amazing alright.

Shien had no idea that this maid had actually done so many things without his knowledge.

Yet, every single thing that the maid did happens to also be exactly to Shien’s wishes.  The sheer amount of convenience that brings makes it so that he has no room to complain either.

Just how the heck did that guy Leisha manage to create and train up such an utterly invincible maid?

She probably didn’t have that kind of ability herself, right?

All Shien could say is that he admits defeat.

Of course, although it does feel a bit scarry, he had to admit that this maid really is capable, to the point where she’s utterly peerless.

Shien keeps getting the feeling that if this continues on, then he’ll end up heavily reliant on this maid, to the point where he wouldn’t be willing to return her to Leisha anymore in the end.

…  Should he maybe just take her, make it a fait accompli, and make her his completely?

Shien started seriously considering the idea.

Then, Lasha suddenly made a statement.

“Even if Mister Shien were to take my body, I still won’t completely stay with you.”

That unbelievably calm statement nearly made Shien do a spit take.

“…  Is that kind of thing all that’s in your head?”

The look that Airi gave Shien was one of extreme dissatisfaction.

“?”

Beatrice, who was obediently letting herself be fed, tilted her head to the side like there was a question mark over her head.  She didn’t seem to understand what Shien and the others were talking about.

“Cough, let’s eat already.”

Shien was utterly mortified, so he could only bury his head down and eat.  He didn’t dare to say anything anymore, and he only had one thing in his mind at this point.

(Did that invincible maid finally learn how to read minds?)

Holy shit that’s terrifying…

…

After finishing breakfast, Shien’s group once again got ready to move on and headed out the doors of the inn.

Beatrice was being led around by Lasha, and she was still acting completely obedient.  She simply followed everyone else without issue while looked around every once in a while like she was curious about everything in the world.

“Please have a safe journey.”

Behind them, the owner of the inn was warmly sending off Shien’s group while bowing and nodding.

As for outside the inn, it was packed full of people.

“Quick, look!  That’s the noble from the Capital!”

“Is that dragon that esteemed noble’s mount?”

“So handsome, so cool!”

“I heard that he’s even a viscount.”

“He’s already a viscount at such a young age?”

“So handsome, so cool!”

The bystanders started going wild, continuously letting out such a racket.

Among them, there were even several individuals dressed like nobles or merchants shouting out.

“Please wait a moment!  Lord viscount!”

“Please sell a bit of dragon blood or dragon tears to our magic potion workshop!”

“W-we need just a little bit of dragon scales!”

“Please sell it to us!”

“Lord viscount!”

Those individuals were shouting louder than anyone else.  If not for the fact that there were knights on patrol maintaining order and keeping them back, they may already have charged right over.

Shien completely ignored those peoples yelling.  Much like how Lasha had already mentioned, he had no interest in such deals at all.

For one, Shien no longer lacked money anymore, so he has no need to consider business when he’s so far away from home.

For two, there’s no way that Shien could just carelessly sell the materials off of Yulin’s body.  It’s one thing if it’s bits that are easily and naturally shed, but it’s not like Shien can really treat Yulin like a sheep to be fleeced bare, to the point where he’d ever strip her entirely of her scales and blood, right?

For three, those kind of business yields the most when it’s done in the Capital, where the people within and both willing and able to pay far more.  Just how much money could other places offer him, right?

Therefore, rather than counting pennies in this kind of place, it’d be far more worthwhile to instead deal with the most famous high class workshops in the entire Kingdom and have them beg for his favor.  That’s what’s worth it after all!

Lasha basically understood such reasoning as well, which is why she understood Shien’s thoughts and thus refused them all entry under the assumption that he didn’t want to see those people.

Yeah, Shien had to admit it.  She did a great job there.

As they watched Shien head toward the stables without paying them any mind, those people started turning anxious.

Thus…

“I’m a man sent by the Forci count family of Lain City!  If you dare ignore a count family, then you’ll be dead for certain!”

As such a statement was shouted out by a certain impatient person, the entire scene suddenly fell silent.

Shien’s group also suddenly stopped and turned to the speaker.

The self-proclaimed man sent by a count family was stiff faced as a hint of fear flashed through his eyes.

However at this point, all he could do was just grit his teeth and continue on.

“Even if you’re a viscount from the Capital, you’re still just a viscount.  You won’t want to offend a count, who is higher ranked than you, right?”

That person spoke such things half threateningly.

That’s true enough.  No noble can simply ignore the difference in rank.

This isn’t even getting into the fact that viscount and count aren’t just separated by a single rank.  They’re on completely different levels as far as noble ranks go.

It’s because, normally speaking, only counts and above can call themselves high ranking or high nobles.  Viscounts and barons are lesser nobles.  They can’t be counted in the same category as counts.

Generally speaking, the Kingdom will award lesser noble ranks like viscounts and barons without much fuss just for major accomplishments as a means of reward or binding the other party to them.  However, counts and marquis are different.  Only families who have stayed for hundreds of years and have worked hard for the nation over generations can possibly be granted such ranks.

As for dukes, only the direct legitimate children of royalty who failed to ascend to the throne can gain such a rank.  It’s impossible for normal people to be made a duke.

Given that, marquis is theoretically the highest noble rank that a person can get, and only marquis or counts can be called a high noble, and they would have countless viscounts and barons under them as vassals.

Viscounts might look like they’re only a single rank below counts, but the difference between the two are unbelievably vast.

Given that, it’s no wonder that person dared to say such a thing.

However…

“A count family, is it?”

Shien looked at that person and spoke with a sarcastic tone.

“Well that really is amazing.  I’ve never had a count family dare to talk to me like that.  I almost thought that it was someone of the royal family who came over.”

No, within the Capital, even the royal family would treat Shien with the utmost politeness.  None of them would dare to raise their voices against him.

Yet now, he’s actually being threatened by some servant sent by a count family.  That really was quite interesting.

“You want something like dragon scales or dragon blood, right?”

Shien spoke up easily and readily.

“Sure.”

As he said that, Shien snapped his fingers.

“Roar-!!!”

An enormous draconic figure flew out from the stables out in the distance and, with a flap of its wings, that figure flew right over above Shien and let out an enraged, earthshaking roar at the area.

The sonic shockwave from the roar blasted up tons of dust, blowing the crowd surrounding the inn every which way, causing screams and yells to continuously ring out.

“Come on then.  The dragon is right here.  So long as you dare to reach out to take it, you can take as much as you want.”

Shien said that with a grin as he had Yulin land before that person.

Instantly, the earth shoot violently, making countless people scream and run in terror.

“Hii!”

That person from the count family fell to the ground from the shaking as he let out a scream.

However, after he finished screaming, he realized that Yulin’s enormous head was pushed up right in front of him.  The giant draconic eyes were staring intently at him as if he was a walking piece of meat.  Even the hot air breathed out through its nostrils were blasting right onto him.

That pitiful person was just a normal courtier though, so after that terrifying experience, he went completely pale, his eyes rolled up in his head, and he collapsed right there to the ground, completely unconcious.

“Let’s go.”

Only then did Shien finally get bored with it and addressed Airi and Lasha over by his side.

Airi and Lasha obviously didn’t think anything of it at all.

Even Beatice was only staring at Yulin’s enormous body.  She actually showed no signs of fear or panic at all, the only thing in her eyes being curiosity.

The group thus got onto Yulin and thus left under Yulin’s power.

And this particular incident ended up spreading out as well.  It ended up being quite a hot topic for a while.
