[CFCS] Chapter 145

Artistic Life (Arc 10.18)

Translated by guilty

Jing Yang and Cui Yan visited the gallery, in addition to taking back “Mermaid”, they also came to see other artists’ paintings that had recently been sent over.

In fact, Jing Yang noticed Su Mo as soon as he walked through the gate. Although Jing Yang had no idea why he had come to the gallery, if Su Mo dared to do something, there would be consequences.

Jing Yang looked back at Su Mo as he ran out the door. Cui Yan saw Jing Yang and also looked back. Despite the fact that he was unfamiliar with the figure, he recognized it right away.

When Jing Yang noticed Cui Yan's frown, he took his hand in his and said, "Let's go, don't worry about him."

Perhaps as a result of the original owner's instinct, Jing Yang now not only enjoys painting, but also enjoys appreciating the works of other painters and occasionally learning something from them.

Jing Yang was looking at a painting in Cui Yan's private lounge while Cui Yan sat watching him. There was no language exchange between them, and the atmosphere was peaceful and lovely. Cui Yan thought it would be a very happy thing to live like this for the rest of his life.

Jing Yang finished his examination of the painting and sat down next to Cui Yan. Cui Yan took the water glass and handed it to Jing Yang who then took two sips and handed it back to him. They move in a calm and natural manner, and the ambiance is rather beautiful.

"I haven't been feeling inspired lately. Should I go and take a look at other customs?" Jing Yang said, leaning on Cui Yan's shoulder. Now that he has decided not to paint content from previous lives, he needs to travel to new places to gain new inspiration.

"Where would you like to go?" Cui Yan inquired, his hand resting on his hair.

"Well… I haven't thought about it yet; I'll look it up first on the Internet. Are you free to accompany me?" Jing Yang asked, turning to face him.

"Of course, I'd like to accompany you; do you want to go alone?" Cui Yan returned his question.

"...Can't I go by myself?" Although Jing Yang knew he was unlikely to go out by himself, he still asked.

"Of course not." Cui Yan spoke without thinking. Wouldn't he have to live in fear every day if he left him so far away? It's better to be safe than sorry; if something happens to Jing Yang in a place he can't see, isn't that just him killing himself?

"But you're so busy..." Jing Yang said while lying on his chest.

"Aren't you about to graduate in a few months? I will do my best to make time to accompany you then." Cui Yan said.

"Okay." Jing Yang considers it; if he really travels alone, he probably didn't want to go either.

"Don't worry, I'll be with you wherever you want to go." Cui Yan held Jing Yang's face, kissed him, put his tongue inside his mouth; teasing him.

Jing Yang raised his head and responded to his kiss. He hummed in protest as Cui Yan reached into his clothes and stroked him.

Jing Yang could predict what kind of life he will lead in the future; it must be happy and sweet as it has been in their previous lives.

So many lives had passed, even if the next life was also identical to the previous life, he’ll never feel tired or bored. Because he doesn't know when his reincarnation will end, he cherishes every day he can spend with his lover and hopes that this kind of life will last forever.

Wu Xiuyuan's father nearly died after learning that Wu Xiuyuan had hit someone and that person was Su Mo. Despite being rescued, he had no intention of spending money to assist Wu Xiuyuan in resolving the matter, instead requesting that he be detained for as long as he deserved.

Wu Xiuyuan has completely given up on himself. He didn't say anything else, didn't respond to anyone who asked him, just let them do whatever they wanted. He was so haggard after being imprisoned that it was impossible to see his original appearance; he appeared to grow old quickly.

Wu Xiuyuan seemed to have lost his soul, but his mind was clear. He realized that his entire life was coming to an end. So he didn't care what happened anymore. It didn't matter whether he was alive or dead, and he didn't care about Su Mo, who had been hit by him without knowing if he was alive or dead.

When he looked up at the sky, Wu Xiuyuan couldn't help but cry, thinking how nice it would be if everything was a dream, and how wonderful it would be if he could go back in time. However, it is impossible to go back. Even if everything is a dream, he will never be able to awaken from his current nightmare.

Su Mo is not dead, but he is half dead. He is now paralyzed all over and can only lie motionless on the bed for the rest of his life.

After Father Su and Mother Su learned that Su Mo had been in a car accident, Father Su refused to care about him. Their Su family was totally destroyed because of Su Mo. Su Mo's brother can only go abroad again. But instead of continuing his studies, he finds work after dropping out and sends money back to his parents for living expenses.

The Su family is in a precarious situation and Su Mo is completely paralyzed. Although Father Su does not want to care for him, Su Mo's mother still wants to bring him home from the hospital to care for.

When Father Su saw Su Mo, he couldn't help but become enraged. Every day, he either rebuked or cursed Su Mo. Mother Su could only cry silently as Father Su scolded Su Mo and threatened to throw him out.

Su Mo can no longer speak full sentences; he can only use simple words with his voice, but his mind can still think. He felt that living like this was pointless; it was better to die, but what made him sad was that he didn't even have the ability to die now. He sometimes wonders why the person who hit him didn't just kill him. Why should he remain in this world and suffer?

Su Mo lay on the bed every day, listening to his father scolding him, and his spirit became increasingly trancelike. He had the impression that he was about to be relieved, but he was not. The longer he lives, the longer he's been in pain.

He could only lie in bed for the rest of his life, and he had strange dreams all the time. Sometimes he dreamed he was a mermaid, sometimes he dreamed he was practicing piano very hard, and sometimes he dreamed of mechas in science fiction movies. But he was very, very painful in those dreams, so many dreams, and the pain was constantly overlayed, torturing his heart, so he was suffering both physically and mentally.

When he is awake, he thinks that if he hadn't copied Mu Jin's paintings, things would not have progressed as far as they have. Although those dreams were painful, they also provided him with a great deal of inspiration. With those inspirations, even if his achievements do not surpass those of Mu Jin, he will undoubtedly become a well-known painter.

Even if his plagiarism is exposed, it'll be good if he was not hit and became completely paralyzed. At the very least, he can paint all the things he dreamed of. Even after many years have passed and everyone has forgotten what he did, his paintings would still be well-known.

Su Mo's dreaming time grew longer and longer as time passed, the dream's content became clearer and clearer, and the painful emotions grew stronger and stronger. He begged his mother many times to let him die because he couldn't bear such agony. Mother Su didn't want to see her son in pain, but she couldn't let him die.

What no one expected was Su Mo lying on the bed, persevering, and finishing a painting with his mouth, and the painting was quite good. His mother sold the painting for a very good price without revealing who painted it. However, this was Su Mo's only painting in the second half of his life. He could no longer paint with his mouth as his body continued to deteriorate.

Jing Yang exited the bathroom and collapsed onto the bed. Cui Yan and he had just returned from a trip. Despite the fact that the trip was fascinating, nowhere was more comfortable than at home.

"Are you tired?" Cui Yan pressed against his back, lifted his nightgown, and stroked his legs.

"Yeah." Jing Yang didn't open his eyes and replied in a nasal tone.

"Someone just sent me something very interesting; would you like to look at it?" Cui Yan asked, his face pressed against Jing Yang's.

"What’s interesting?" Jing Yang finally opened his eyes half-way.

"I'll have someone take it to the studio; you'll recognize it when you see it." Cui Yan embraced Jing Yang.

Jing Yang rubbed his face against Cui Yan's chest. He went to the studio with him after waking up a little.

When Jing Yang saw the painting on the easel, he was taken aback. A strange sense of familiarity washed over him. After some time, he asked, "Who painted this?"

"Su Mo did." Cui Yan said.

"Su Mo?" Jing Yang, surprised, says, "Isn't he paralyzed from head to toe? Is he still able to paint?"

"He is completely paralyzed, but he painted this with his mouth." Cui Yan was surprised when he first saw this painting. He has always sent people to observe the Su family's actions, so even if Su Mo's mother did not say who painted it when she sold the paintings, he was told, and the painting was sent to him.

Jing Yang was still shaken from it. But it was not because of Su Mo drawing this painting with his mouth that shocked him. But because he recognized the scene in the painting and was shocked that Su Mo was able to paint such a scene.

"What's the problem?" Cui Yan asked, concerned, after noticing Jing Yang's glum expression.

"It's fine. I just feel tired," Jing Yang explained.

"I'm sorry, let's go back to our room and sleep." Cui Yan kissed Jing Yang on the head before picking him up and walking back into their room.

Jing Yang lay on the bed, but he wasn't sleepy. He couldn't stop thinking about the painting he'd just seen, and why Su Mo would paint such a scene. Could Su Mo be the artificial mermaid Abby from a previous life? Or was it someone else in a previous life? In any case, it must be someone who has witnessed that scene.

Jing Yang has not fallen asleep, and Cui Yan can tell. He patted Jing Yang on the back and asked, "Aren't you tired? Why are you not sleeping?"

"I don't like that painting." Jing Yang said.

"I'll have the painting burned tomorrow." Cui Yan responded without asking why; he felt a little self-blame in his heart, and he felt he should not let Jing Yang see the painting. Because he felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity when he saw the painting, he couldn't wait to show it to Jing Yang. He would never have let this painting appear in front of Jing Yang if he had known he would be in a bad mood after seeing it.

Jing Yang hugged Cui Yan, buried his face in his chest, and breathed deeply. Don't think too hard about it; what if Su Mo is Abby? Not to mention that he is now completely paralyzed, even if he is physically fit, he will never be able to beat himself.

Jing Yang also observed Su Mo's family for a while, wanting to see if Su Mo would draw any more paintings, but he didn't need to wait for that long. Cui Yan's people determined that Su Mo would never again paint with his mouth. Jing Yang gradually moved on from this matter. He wasn't afraid that Su Mo would paint again, but he was curious to see what else he would draw.

Jing Yang still treasured the happiness he had in this life, as well as Cui Yan's love for him. Jing Yang was carefree, and he went through the rest of his life without any trouble.

  8. Uumm, kind of second guessing what happened before... I mean if it was a different person getting retribution (a new word that I had to learn to understand what's going on in this repetitive yet strangely good story)... What I mean to say is if it's a different person each time I won't feel remorse, like at all, but if it's the same person over and over again, I feel kind of bad for the guy/girl/they? (still don't know if it's 2+ people)

  10. I feel really bad for su mo's brother. he really didn't do anything and didn't know about anything and also had no hand in raising su mo but now he has to drop out of school and not pursue his own life but has to work and support the family. I hate how MC's revenge has to rope in innocent people and make them suffer

That's why, we that has family need to learn a little bit of our manner outside, just to not implicated our own family. Mc revenge is yeah, bad cause it makes innocent other suffors because of it. But, the villain do all those things without thinking about their family at all
