The Night Adorer c10 Part 2

——Even for the members of the Lionheart Chamber of Commerce, it was also the same.

Chris breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at Sulman very gratefully. The next moment, Chris ordered a few of his men to immediately arrange a carriage for Sulman. The decoration was quite exquisite, very luxurious. The most noticeable thing was that in front of this carriage, there was also a Snow Nightmare. This Snow Nightmare was fastened very tightly. Although it was also very anxious, it had never broken off the reins. It was one of very few ‘horses’ in the entire caravan that was still pulling the carriage.

There was nothing to say all the way, only the sound of snowy night blowing.

The entire caravan became very quiet later on. There was only the sound of the wind blowing past.

Obviously, Sulman was still a nominally ordinary member of the Lionheart Chamber of Commerce, but both he and Chris were tacitly silent about this matter.

In Chris's opinion, anyone would be able to tell that there was a problem with Sulman’s identity. Otherwise, why would he want to pretend to be an ordinary person to join the Lionheart Chamber of Commerce?

However, Chris was willing to invite him for the same reason. If there was really no problem, wouldn’t it be better to join the ancient nobles, or Orthodox Church? Why would they want to join the private chambers of commerce, an organisation that was lower than them? A fine fowl perches only on a fine tree. It was just as simple as that.

Watching Sulman and the little figure whose half face was hidden under the cloak get into the carriage, Chris breathed a sigh of relief and began to command his men to reorganize the caravan. He ordered them to abandon most of the iron cages and disassemble some of the carriages into parts, only carrying important supplies, and walking towards Steel City.

Because most of the Snow Nightmares had escaped, it was impossible to rely solely on the remaining Snow Nightmares. Therefore, most people had to rely on walking.

Of course, Sulman was not on this list...

Braving the wind and snow, everyone's figure gradually became blurred on the snowy land, and finally disappeared into the darkness. The falling snow slowly erased their footprints.

A few hours later.

On the boundless snowfield, suddenly, a group of men and women wearing exquisite leather armor, eagle feather hats and equipped with exquisite steel bows on their waists appeared from the horizon.

Soon after, they came to the place where the battle between White Wolf Group and Sulman broke out. A woman was moving with her back straight, her chin slightly raised, revealing a pretty face. She who was wearing the dasing leather armor suddenly raised her hand, signaling everyone to stop.

"There is a smell of blood..."

The woman in leather armor sniffed her nose. The next moment, she looked at the snowdrift on the ground. The attendants next to her could read her eyes, and someone immediately went forward to dig the snow. A few minutes later, the person's movements stopped. Inside the snowdrift, there was a corpse.

——It was the corpse of the 'silver wolf' Hawthorne!

Seeing this corpse, the face of the woman in leather armor changed suddenly. No need for her to give orders, the nearby members acted immediately.

Soon, the shallow snow in the vicinity was swept away, and the remnant scenes after the night battle appeared in front of everyone.

"Lady Selena, the victims were members of the White Wolf Group, and the 'silver wolf' Hawthorne..." A young man dressed up in a gray trench coat said respectfully.

The dashing woman called 'Selena' glanced at him coldly, "I haven't lost my eyesight. I can recognize the appearance of the 'silver wolf'. What I want to know is who is responsible for this? And what happened to the White Wolf Group?"

If anyone was here, they would definitely be surprised by Selena’s words. They were wearing badges on their chests, and the patterns were pure white snowflakes surrounding an unchanging iron blade, which was the symbol of 'Pilgrims'.

As Pilgrims, their mission was to hunt Desolate Bandits. However, the words of Selena seemed to reveal that they were familiar with White Wolf Group. This was clearly not in line with their missions If ordinary people heard it, it might even cause a great commotion.

Hearing this, the gray-clothed young man who was being reprimanded was not angry, but respectfully said, "According to the 'archer' who is good at tracking, from the reconstructed scene, it seems that the White Wolf Group had captured an ordinary Caravan."

"Unfortunately, they were killed during the transportation and the whole group was destroyed."

After speaking, the gray-clothed young man paused, cautiously, "Lady Selena, are we going to track that caravan?"

Selena thought for a moment. Suddenly, she sneered, "Ordinary caravan? You are telling me that an ordinary caravan has the ability to destroy the White Wolf Group, and even kill the 'silver wolf'? Will people of this kind be hired by an ordinary caravan?"

The gray-clothed young man was taken aback for a moment, and the next moment, he realized something, "You mean..."

"Heh, isn't it obvious? This is a 'trap' that others laid for us." Selena confidently said, "They disguised themselves as ordinary caravans and baited the White Wolf Group to hunt them. During transportation, the ambusher lurking in the dark suddenly attacked and destroyed the entire White Wolf Group in one fell swoop, and left an extremely obvious 'clue'—"

"Have you traced the whereabouts of that caravan?"

"Lady Selena, yes... They didn't use any transcendental methods to cover up their whereabouts. Of course, it may also be that the transcender of the other party is not good at eliminating traces. They could be knights or as Herrscher…” As the gray-clothed young continued speaking, his voice became weaker and weaker. Obviously, he also realized that there was something wrong.

"Oh, they left behind deliberately..." Selena shook her head, turned, and ordered, "Don't worry about these things, the most important thing is to track down the remnants of the 'Stuart' family and help our old opponents to clean them up."

Now that it was determined that the caravan was a 'trap', they naturally didn't need to chase it.

Who knew what trap was waiting for them ahead?

Selena chose to ignore it. Anyway, in her opinion, this trap was very likely to be arranged by 'Mercury Libra' to specifically target them. After all, they were members of the 'Natural Asylum', a sect that was always on a bad term with her sect.

"Yes!"

Everyone obeyed her orders, but before leaving, the grey-clothed young man couldn't help but ask, "Lady Selena, it is clear that we are not on good terms with 'Mercury Libra', but why should we help them to hunt down 'traitors'?"

Selena glanced at him. Suddenly, the lady said with a meaningful tone, "If it is obvious to you that the Stuart family is a scapegoat, then, it would be obvious to everyone else."

"Helping Mercury Libra to eliminate their 'traitors' is to scare others. In that way, no one would dare to join Mercury Libra."

In the realization of the grey-clothed young man, everyone chose another direction and continued to pursue the remnants of the Stuart family.

Soon, this batch of Pilgrims disappeared at the end of the snowy field.

——The direction they chose was completely opposite to the Lionheart Caravan.
