TDCM Chapter 29

 Chapter 29 - He's Already Met Her

Yuan Chu was afraid Fang Die was shy, so she ran to the head of the boat-shaped spiritual tool, leaving the two alone. Yuan Chu's "I'm definitely not eavesdropping" look made Fang Die's cheeks flush red. There was no good way to back out of this.

Seeing that Yuan Chu seemed to truly be meditating, Fang Die reluctantly pulled away her gaze. She glared at Ye Chenyuan and hissed at him. “You! You’re so young, and you're already thinking about these things--aren’t you ashamed?”

Ye Chenyuan frowned slightly. He stared at her, bewildered. “I shouldn’t… think about dual cultivation?”

Fang Die was even more embarrassed now. She thought of something and drew near to Ye Chenyuan, whispering into his ear. “Dual cultivation, it’s the most intimate act you do with your favorite person, idiot.”

Ye Chenyuan had wanted to avoid being so close to her, but hearing her words, he pushed down his discomfort. “The most intimate act?”

One could forgive him since he used to be a single-minded cultivation demon. He truly didn’t know about the most intimate act Fang Die spoke of. What was it, could it be...

His gaze wavered, and he glanced at Yuan Chu.

He thought of the kiss he stole a year before! His heart sped. That had to be the most intimate act, right?!

Realizing he truly didn’t know anything, Fang Die’s eyes softened. She drew even nearer, practically using her breath to whisper into his ear.

“Dao companions are like the mortal world’s husband and wife. Once their feelings are strong enough, they will align with their bodies to do the most intimate act. With complete trust in one another, they’ll sleep on the same bed… and for us cultivators, not only will our bodies become one but also our divine senses. It’s a very wonderful feeling. In the future, when you… meet someone you like, you’ll understand that urge and experience that longing.”

Her words were both explicit and reserved. The mystery in her slight smile made Ye Chenyuan momentarily forget she was here to steal his master. He sank deep into thought.

Meeting someone he likes and longing? Strong feelings and aligned bodies to do… the most intimate act?

Vaguely, he seemed to realize something. Yet at the same time, there seemed to be a gauze covering his view, blurring his vision.

In his mind, he asked Venerable Li, “Venerable Li, isn’t it really dangerous to release your divine sense? Why did she say divine senses need to mix in dual cultivation and that it would create a very wonderful feeling? Could it be the people dual cultivating don’t fear that the other person would attack them after releasing their divine sense?”

For cultivators, being injured after releasing their divine sense was fatal!

The old charlatan, who had been playing dead the entire time, coughed. Although he had never eaten pig meat before, he still knew pigs ran. (He had never done it before, but he still knew how it worked.)

With an air of seriousness, he replied, “Do you know what a dual cultivation partner is? It’s your most trusted person, someone you wouldn’t hesitate to give up your life for. With her, you wouldn’t worry that she’d try to take advantage of you and hurt you. Only under this trust, you will be dao companions.”

Someone he trusted most and would even give his life for? He had already met such a person!

So, the feelings he towards his master, they--they were the feelings that happened between dao companions?!

This sudden thought shocked Ye Chenyuan. He paled. He seemed to fuzzily realize in his subconsciousness that he had done something very dumb. For example, insisting on becoming Yuan Chu’s apprentice...

But, had he made a mistake somewhere?

Meanwhile, Fang Die was already leaning her cheek in her palm, staring dreamily at Yuan Chu’s carefree figure.

“You, you’re still young. You don’t understand what liking someone is…” Her eyes turned more infatuated, and she smiled foolishly. “Liking is love at first sight, but also familiarity breeds fondness. It’s the sight of him sending your heart racing and thoughts of longing to always be with him…”

Here, she stealthily pushed Ye Chenyuan and hinted with her eyes. “Right, little benefactor, your master, does he… have a marriage partner?”

Ye Chenyuan was about to understand the important point he had been trying to get. But when he heard her words, his line of thinking was interrupted, and he woke from his musings. Without a single thought, he replied, “He does!”

“What?” Fang Die’s expression turned ugly, her mood dropping. “That said, he is such an excellent person…”

She regretfully stared at Yuan Chu. And Yuan Chu, who was sitting so righteously while eavesdropping on them, her little head was filled with thoughts of--what did dual cultivation feel like?

In her last life, she had lost herself in fighting over things with the male lead. She hadn’t had the time to find a partner worth trusting or the chance to experience such a mysterious thing. Now, hearing Fang Die use such soft and yearning words, she was a bit curious...

But Yuan Chu gave up after a moment’s thought. It was better to forget about it. Releasing your divine sense was very dangerous. If the other person decided to take the opportunity to inflict heavy losses on her, she was toast for sure. Thinking of this danger, Yuan Chu immediately abandoned the idea. She would never meet someone she loved and trusted so wholeheartedly! Never!

And amid this thought process, they arrived at the Zhou family.

The Zhou family was celebrating the milestone birthday of their over seven hundred year old Nascent Soul ancestor. Since Nascent Souls lived for a maximum of eight hundred years, the Zhou family had arranged an especially big celebration to attract many different people in their search for an opportunity to extend the lifespan of their ancestor.

In any case, Yuan Chu had remembered Fang Die's matter. Upon arriving at the Zhou family, she had Ye Chenyuan take the Myriad Sword Sect’s token of authority to see the steward of the Zhou family and resolve the matter.

When the steward heard that someone from a side branch of the Zhou family dared to coerce a woman from an ordinary family, he patted his chest and promised to take care of it. Fang Die could go home at ease, and there would be no one to trouble her. He also compensated Fang Die greatly for her emotional distress.

The giant rock weighing down Fang Die’s heart fell to the ground. She gave Yuan Chu her countless thanks, but her heart still felt empty.

She had realized Yuan Chu had no ideas towards her, so she ended her thoughts. The main thing was that Yuan Chu’s status was simply too high; she had no way of climbing that high on the social ladder. Thus, after the problem was solved, she hardened her heart and bid her leave to Yuan Chu.

“Many thanks to great immortal for saving me!”

In front of the doors of the Zhou family, Fang Die bowed deeply to Yuan Chu. Yuan Chu waved her hand. “It was nothing!”

She gave Fang Die a jade tile. “Take this. Once you safely arrive home, just break it and I’ll sense it.”

“Okay.” Fang Die thanked her again, deeply moved. She hadn’t thought she’d encounter such a kind person.

Then, under Ye Chenyuan’s disapproving gaze, she left, looking back after every step.

She wasn’t sure if she was imagining it, but she always felt like her little benefactor didn’t like her.

Seeing that Fang Die had finally left, Yuan Chu let out a breath. She could finally revert back to her original appearance! Although disguising as a super guy was fun and all, she had accidentally toyed with a girl’s heart! She was pretty guilty about that. But once Fang Die left, she started raising a ruckus. With a bang, the handsome guy turned into a little loli. The loli wore cherry red clothes. Her cute, cute eyes opened wide, she stared delightedly at Ye Chenyuan.

“How was it? I acted pretty well didn’t I?”
