 Chapter 11 - Her Smell

“Don’t worry! He’ll be fine…”

Little Qiu sighed at Yuan Chu’s words. She did say Her Lady just turned six; how could she be a good master?

Hearing Little Qiu’s sigh, Yuan Chu suddenly thought that in any case, it was her disciple’s first competition. It was a bit embarrassing if she just sat around and waited…

Hence, she sat up and told Little Qiu, “Little Qiu Qiu, go check if the soul plums are ripe yet. If they aren’t, go to Immortal Crane Peak and poach an egg for breakfast.”

“My Lady!” Little Qiu gave her a disapproving glance. However, in these last ten days, she was already subtly tamed by Yuan Chu. Now, although she was unwilling, she still left.

Thus, only Ye Chenyuan and Yuan Chu were left in the room. Seeing that Little Qiu was out of earshot, Yuan Chu motioned toward Ye Chenyuan.

“Come with me.”

Ye Chenyuan was originally sitting contemplatively next to the bed. Hearing her say this, he subconsciously grabbed her sleeve.

“Master, where are you going?”

“Naturally to a good place!”

Ye Chenyuan sighed in his heart. He didn’t dare to set his eyes on her, only softly asking, “Then is it okay if I help Master change?”

Yuan Chu felt her non-existent balls hurt. She clearly had her inner clothes on already. And what did a six-year-old have to fear about exposing herself? Her front and back were equally flat; what was there to see? But on second thought, she was his master. She should act like a master. Thus, she reluctantly agreed. She held out her little arms, waiting for Ye Chenyuan to help her with her outer clothes.

Although he was only four years older, Ye Chenyuan was tall and thin. He was already an elegant youth, while she hadn’t reached her growth spurt yet. She was short and chubby, just like a little dumpling. Her eyes flashed with unbearable cuteness!

Even though she stood on the low bed while Ye Chenyuan stood on the ground, he was still taller than her by half a head. When helping her dress, his hands partially encircled her as if he was going to hug her.

Ye Chenyuan’s heartbeat quickened at the milky fragrance on Yuan Chu. He wasn’t nervous for today’s competition, but he was nervous near her.

“Done.”

The youth’s elegant voice sounded. Yuan Chu was fully dressed, but her hair was not yet combed. Just like this, she jumped off of the bed and left, dragging Ye Chenyuan behind her. Time was tight; she had to hurry!

Soon, the two reached the most spiritual energy rich spot in the Frost Sword Peak: the Night Spirit Pool.

Yuan Chu closed her eyes, mouthing a chant. Immediately, the seal covering the spirit pool broke, and something flew out of the water.

After grabbing it, Yuan Chu felt a twinge of heartache. But on second thought, how could investing in the male lead not be worth it? He even agreed to give her a divine weapon. This investment was for a more generous return in the future! Thus, she hardened her heart and handed him the jade box.

“Take it. This battle, you have to get into the top ten!”

Ye Chenyuan quizzically studied the box. He could see nothing from the outside, but when he opened the box by a crack, spiritual energy poured out of the box. He promptly closed the box. Even so, the spiritual energy around them had still multiplied by tenfold. Luckily, Yuan Chu had foresight and sealed the area beforehand.

Ye Chenyuan’s heart shook. Although it was just a quick glimpse, he knew it was something more precious than anything he owned besides the Sky Pearl!

“Master, I can’t accept this!”

Yuan Chu stared at him, bewildered. This guy will do his fair share of killing and stealing in the future. What is he being so unreasonable for?

“I’m telling you to take it, so take it!” She said, her voice dead serious, “There’s a spirit in your body, right? Though I can sense he’s fast asleep right now. This ten thousand year spirit essence is the best for nourishing your mind. There are ten drops. If you use one drop, your divine server will dramatically increase. That spirit will wake up too. With his help during the competition, I won’t have to worry.”

Ye Chenyuan stared at her in surprise. He never thought that she knew of his biggest secret!
“Master, how did you know…”

Ye Chenyuan didn’t get to finish his words before Yuan Chu placed a finger over his lips. She drew near, whispering into his ear. “I’ve read books related to the Sky Pearl in the past. I know it has a storage space and a powerful sealed spirit inside it. However, don’t worry. That old fellow won’t do anything to you before you’re strong. But this secret, you and I know it, and there won’t be a third person to know.”

Ye Chenyuan was listening attentively at first, but the girl’s faint fragrance floated over, her soft breaths landing on his ear. His face reddened, and his entire body tensed up.

“Got it?”

She suddenly pulled away, startling Ye Chenyuan awake. He wanted to refuse, but seeing the earnest look in her eyes, those words of protest died in his mouth.

This ten thousand year spirit essence couldn’t have been easy to obtain. Master’s mother must have given it to her. And it’s value could be compared to an immortal weapon’s! Many went crazy for the essence, yet she gave it to him like this just because he needed it?

He would remember this sentiment in his heart!

He squeezed the box in his hand, replying solemnly. “Don’t worry, Master. I will definitely win first place!”

Yuan Chu nodded. At this moment, the heavenly drum sounded. Some ethereal music drifted across the sky. The mountain-opening ceremony was finally beginning!

Yuan Chu grabbed a pearl of spiritual essence and threw it straight into Ye Chenyuan’s mouth. She put her finger on his forehead. Boundless spiritual energy poured in, helping him guide the spirit essence’s strong medicinal power.

Ye Chenyuan groaned and closed his eyes. Under the attack of the endless medicinal power, he felt his body split into two parts. One part as divine sense, the other his mortal body. This feeling was ten thousand times more painful than when he reconstructed his dantian the day before!
He gritted his teeth, not uttering a sound. He spurred all his spiritual energy to follow Yuan Chu’s, washing over his meridians.

Through this course of events, he suddenly realized Master didn’t have an unstable foundation those people said she was. Instead, although he never fought with any Nascent Souls before, he could still feel Master’s imposing manner, steady as a mountain. This wasn’t the ability someone forcefully pushed into Nascent Soul could have.

“Focus.”

The little girl’s crisp voice sounded exceptionally solemn. It seemed to drift over from the ends of the earth.

“The ten thousand year spiritual essence has very high medicinal power. I’ll help you absorb half of it right now. When that spirit wakes up, he’ll naturally show you how to absorb the other half. Now, let your divine sense follow my spiritual energy. Recite the heart clearing formula!”

Ye Chenyuan gathered his concentration. He circulated through his body, following her spiritual energy. The energy in his sea of consciousness grew more and more and heavier and heavier. The heavier it got, the more difficult it was to circulate.

He didn’t know how long had passed. It felt like an eternity, but perhaps it was just a moment!
